Eco Warriors
"The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it."— Genesis 2:15
Earth Day was an incredible success at Harworth Academy. The children arrived at school with their inventions and their costumes made completely out of recycled materials. We all pledged to one small thing to help to protect the Earth! We are already looking forward to doing it all again next year!
Eco Warriors at Harworth Academy
Our Eco Warriors play a very important role in school life. They help us care for God’s creation by encouraging everyone to recycle, reduce waste, and look after our environment. As role models, they remind us that small changes – like saving energy, reducing plastic, or keeping our school grounds tidy – can make a big difference.
By leading projects and setting a good example, our Eco Warriors show how we can all take responsibility for protecting the world around us, now and for the future.
Our planet pledges are in every class. We are collecting both batteries and plastic bottle tops in school. So far, we have recycled two full boxes of batteries and are close to filling boxes full of plastic lids so we can make furniture from them.
The eco-warrior award is going from strength to strength, with every class now achieving a win for being the best eco-friendly class in the school.
