Vocabulary
At our school we are also trying to increase the children's vocabulary. During all of our topics we use knowledge organisers to ensure the children are learning and using new words all of the time.
Our lesson headers include a vocabulary session to help the children to apply new vocabulary to their work.

In Key Stage One we use Grandma Fantastic to introduce new words. These words will introduced so they can be used in a piece of work. The children love to shout out "Grandma Fantastic what's in your basket?"
