Collective Worship

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” - John 8:12

Collective Worship

Collective Worship is an integral part of life at our school.

Every day the we meet together in Collective Worship to develop our understand of our Christian value for each half term. We sing, pray, reflect and celebrate our achievements.

Worship begins by lighting candles before the children our welcomed. One person from each class has a heart of wisdom that they take to worship and give to the Worship Leaders. The Worship Leaders interlock the pieces into 3 hearts and the final piece is added by the member of staff who is leading the Collective Worship. This shows that we are altogether and ready for worship as a family. The three hearts represent 'Amaze, Achieve and Aspire' and together we 'Gain a heart of wisdom'. Our committee share quotes and prayers that help us to reflect on our current Christian Value.

The values that are central to Collective Worship in our school are:

Courage

Peace

Wisdom

Faithfulness

Kindness

Hope

Children are invited to reflect on Collective Worship by being given time, space, and gentle prompts to think about the themes and messages they encounter. Through age‑appropriate discussion, quiet reflection, or creative responses, they are encouraged to consider how the ideas shared might relate to their own experiences, beliefs, and values. This reflective approach helps children develop deeper understanding, empathy, and a sense of personal meaning, ensuring that Collective Worship becomes not just something they attend, but something they can thoughtfully engage with.
